Diploma of Financial Planning Smart & Skilled

Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It’s helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers. This training is subsidised by the NSW Government.

A prospective student of the Smart and Skilled program should meet the following criteria:
  • 15 years old or over
  • no longer at school
  • living or working in NSW
  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has set minimum requirements for the training of financial product advisors to give them a set of knowledge and skills appropriate to their activities and the financial products they work with. Anyone who provides financial product advice to retail clients must meet these minimum training standards by satisfactorily completing a training course provided by an authorised Registered Training Organisation.

The Australian College of Professionals is an authorised provider and assessor of these training courses and offers the Tier 1 RG146 Accreditation course for advisors working in the areas of Insurance, Managed Investments, Superannuation and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF). By completing any one of the product area modules, plus the core Diploma module, you will be regarded as being RG146 compliant in that product area, and you may subsequently make application to become an authorised representative under an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL).

IMPORTANT
By clicking "Register", this is simply a “tentative enrolment” and does not bind you to a formal enrolment. On receipt of your enrolment form, the College will provide you with the eligibility survey which will enable us to
finalise your eligibility for government-funding. If you already have a Student Portal access, then on the registration screen you can simply click "Returning Student". If there is a tick in the  left hand  column that means the data previously entered has been saved. If there is an exclamation mark, you will need to re-enter your details for that section

**Please note that final approval of your submitted enrolment is pending your eligibility outcome for government funding.

We currently have no course offerings available. Please contact the College for further information regarding upcoming courses.
